The Director of Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) serves as the head of the school’s Human Resources Office. The primary responsibility of this office is to foster a positive, productive, and nurturing work environment for all members of the academic community—faculty, staff, and administrators—guided by the Ignatian principle of cura personalis, or care for the whole person.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: The director is a key part of the school’s leadership team, helping to plan the institution’s future by ensuring the HR strategy supports its overall goals.
  • Building a Great Workplace: They are responsible for making the school a fantastic place to work. They do this by developing a human resource strategy that focuses on empowering employees and building a high-performance culture.
  • Promoting School Values: The director ensures that the school’s vision, mission, and core values are reflected in everything they do, from training to daily interactions. They act as a role model for all employees.
  • Recruitment and Development: They oversee the entire process of hiring new employees and making sure they are a good fit for the school. They also plan and facilitate training programs for all staff—from new teachers to seasoned administrators—to help them grow professionally.
  • Managing Employee Relations: This role involves keeping employees happy and productive. The director works to reduce staff turnover by proposing good benefits and organizing activities that build a sense of community. They also handle employee issues and grievances, ensuring that processes are fair and respectful.
  • Ensuring Compliance: The director ensures that all HR policies, procedures, and employee records are accurate and up-to-date, following best practices and legal requirements. They also regularly audit the department to ensure everything is in order.
