The Registrar is the official in charge of all student academic records, from the moment a student first enrolls until they graduate and even beyond. Think of the Registrar as the school’s record keeper, making sure all student information is accurate and up-to-date.
Core Responsibilities:
- Record Integrity: This office ensures the accuracy of all records and has the authority to reconstruct missing student files using official sources if needed.
- Student Enrollment and Records: The Registrar oversees the entire process of a student’s academic journey at the school. This includes handling registration, transfers, and curriculum placement. They are the ones who manage and update all student academic records.
- Liaison to DepEd: This office acts as the official link between the school and the Department of Education (DepEd), making sure all enrollment, transfer, and record-keeping procedures follow government rules and requirements.
- Issuing Official Documents: The Registrar is responsible for issuing official documents like transcripts of records and report cards. They also handle requests for official records and references from alumni and former students.
- Managing Grades and Honors: The office works with teachers to collect and record student grades. They also compile class rankings and prepare statistical reports for school administrators. The Registrar is also in charge of posting the honors list and preparing the certificates for students who receive academic awards.
